Back in October, I found myself in California for a hot second; a short 48-hours to be exact (read everything about it here). 48 hours seems barely enough time to get to know a city, right? Or in my case, it was the exact amount of time I needed to fall in love with it.
From the moment I set foot in LA, I knew there was something special about it. Nefeli has been always going on and on about the unique, magical energy of this place and I finally got what she meant. It's a city where nothing is impossible, no dream is big enough, no wish seems unattainable. A city where you can be anyone or anything you want - no excuses needed.
With Coachella just around the corner, I thought it's the perfect timing to share my photo diary of this very short, but also sweet trip to the City of Angels, plus everything I managed to fit in just a couple of days. Ready to take some notes?
DAY 1 | Beverly Hills & Hollywood
I stayed at the London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills right off Sunset Blvd, which proved to be a rather convenient location for me to move around. We arrived at the hotel around 3 in the afternoon, meaning I had just a few hours before sunset to explore the area.
I headed straight to Melrose, took the obligatory shot at Paul Smith's pink wall, stopped at Alfred's for a cold matcha, visited "The Row" on Melrose Place (crazy #interiorgoals, to say the least) before we had dinner at The Highlight Room (TAO Group's newest concept) on top of Dream Hollywood followed by a bunch of spicy margaritas at Beauty & Essex.
DAY 2 | Abbot Kinney & Venice Beach
On the second day obviously, I woke up early to watch the sunrise (gotta thank my jet-lag for that) and took an uber to Abbot Kinney Blvd just because I had to take a stroll along the coolest block in the city. Oh, and get my cold-pressed juice at Pressed Juicery AND my iced matcha latte at Intelligentsia.
Then walked to Venice Beach where I took tons of touristy shots (#sorrynotsorry), grabbed a Spanish latte at Menotti's (so many coffee places, so little time), had late lunch at Gjelina (the "Blanco" pizza's to die for) followed by early drinks at the infamous Chateau Marmont before the big H&M event at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles later that evening. And then unfortunately, my time was up.
DAY 3 | West Hollywood to LAX
My flight was around 12pm the next day, so I literally had only a few minutes to rush to Alfred Tea Room for one last sip of a delicious iced tea before I headed to LAX. Goodbye LA, you've been good.
