My Weekly Workout Routine

You've been waiting a long time for this, I know.

I have already addressed the importance of wellness and why it's better to keep your body healthy rather than skinny, and now it's finally the time to share more about my actual workout routine. Start taking notes, my ladies!

I'll be honest with you. I used to HATE working out. Like really hate it. Over the past few years, however, I've managed to make exercising a regular part of my life; I no longer see it as something that "needs to be done" with the purpose of losing weight, but rather as an integral part of my lifestyle. I love working out not only because it makes me look better, but also because it makes me feel stronger. I know, I know what you're thinking; what the heck is she talking about? But it's true - you just got to give it time. Nothing good in this life ever comes easy.

Nonetheless, I strongly believe that the gym isn't for everyone. Everyone's fitness journey is incredibly different and what works for me and my body doesn't necessarily work for you too. It took me a while to figure out what type of exercise is ideal for me and my body shape. And while you can't change your genes, you can make the most of what you were born with by training for your own [body shape].

Personal Training

I work out 3 times a week with a personal trainer doing a program called "fit mix". The "fit mix" is a 30-minute intense full body workout with a number of different exercises and target every week using all types of equipment (e.g. bosu, kettlebells, TRX, trampoline) and combining them in the appropriate intensity. I also try to fit a kick-boxing session somewhere in between, as it really helps me in relieving stress (and anger hehe).

Dancing

I have recently started taking Latin dance lessons twice a week, which apart from being my favorite leisure activity it is also a great form of exercise. I strongly recommend finding something you are passionate about that will also help you keep in shape. It could be any type of dance, tennis, water-sports or even trekking. 

P.S. 5 times a week might sound crazy to some of you, however, it's basically 3 x just 30 minutes of intense training plus 2 hours of FUN with my amazing Latin dance teacher :)
