Berlin. A city that - strangely enough - had only visited once in the past and wanted to go back ever since. And so I did, exactly a month ago.
The actual reason why I traveled to the German capital wasn't to play tourist, but an international project with MAC cosmetics. Along with MAC Senior Artist Alexandra Spyridopoulou we filmed a little something for the brand that will be revealed to the public this coming Spring. Till then, my lips are sealed :)
I wish I could say I had enough time to discover the so-called beauty of Berlin's squares & churches, but unfortunately my free time was rather limited hence I only managed to do the minimum from I what I actually had on my itinerary.
Here's a little IG photo diary, along with a bunch of things to do & stuff to pack if you find yourself in Berlin anytime soon :)
After my rather long lunch at SoHo House with my favorite Berliner @SoniaFranceX, I headed directly to Voo. I've been following this awesome concept store on IG for quite some time now and was dying to check their physical space. Even though the store was nothing extraordinary (sorry guys), the cappuccino at their in-house coffee shop was to die for.
I'm sure you are all familiar with Soho House Berlin - aka where the cool kids are and where I had lunch LOL - but even if you're not or it's not your kind of place, you need to pay a visit to The Store, a multi-use retail space located on the ground floor; it has the most carefully curated item selection I've seen in a while, plus the space itself is #interiorgoals. Seriously.
For all the photography & fashion lovers a visit to the Helmut Newton Foundation is mandatory. I loved the current exhibition of Alice Spring, aka Helmut's widow June Newton, called the MEP show.
My ultimate travel tip? Pack the heaviest/warmest winter clothing in your closet (coats, furs, scarfs) and WRAP UP WARM! Cause yeah, the city is as freezing cold as you've heard it is.
