L'ORÉAL PARIS WOMEN OF WORTH

"Every woman is worth it".

Last night I had the honor to be among the attendees of the L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth 10th year anniversary gala. Held at The Pierre Hotel, the event was a celebration of 10 extraordinary international women, who are really making a difference in their communities.

There are no exact words to describe my emotions last night. It was such an overwhelming evening. I felt so deeply touched, sitting in a room full of empowering women sharing their stories of how they found purpose in helping others (I was literally sobbing the entire night, god bless waterproof mascara!). I heard so many inspiring speeches about how these women have found the true meaning of life by selflessly volunteering to serve the people around them. Congratulations to L'Oréal for giving these women the recognition they deserve and for reminding us that every woman is worth it, every woman has a voice and if we all raise it, we can really make a difference in this world.

Getting ready for the event

The lovely L'Oréal USA team were kind enough to send me one of their pro makeup artists to get me ready for the big night. God bless them, cause you all know how much I struggle with doing my own makeup. Oops, did I just say that? Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love beauty products and high quality cosmetics (you should see my beauty cabinet!), but as I opt for a very natural look on my everyday life - using just a light foundation & black mascara - I am not confident enough to experiment with heavier makeup for special occasions. I would rather leave that to the pros. Are you with me on this?

My look for the night

The morning of the event I actually experienced a huge wardrobe crisis, as I realized that the dress I was supposed to wear wouldn't be arriving on time. And you ladies know what that meant.. I had to take plan B, aka simply look into my closet for something to wear. The invite stated "cocktail dressing", so a pair of velvet pants matched with a vintage sequin jacket seamed appropriate enough for the occasion. The moral of the story? There is always something hidden in your closet waiting for the right moment to be taken out. You just need to calm down and look for it. Got it?

I wanna say thank you to L'Oréal USA once again for letting me be part of such a special evening. I am literally still pinching myself.
